One of the most intriguing aspects of Diablo 4’s 2025 roadmap is the inclusion of two IP collaborations scheduled for the Belial’s Return and Infernal Chaos seasons. Blizzard has a history of crossovers within its own franchises, such as World of Warcraft-themed skins, but these new collaborations could reach beyond Blizzard’s usual boundaries.

Overwatch 2 is a strong candidate for one of these collaborations, given its previous Diablo-themed skins and Blizzard’s interest in cross-promotion. Skins inspired by popular Overwatch heroes like Reinhardt or Mercy could bring a fresh aesthetic to Diablo 4’s dark fantasy world.

Another potential collaborator is Doom: The Dark Ages, a Microsoft-owned IP that shares thematic similarities with Diablo’s demon-slaying gameplay. A Doom-themed skin or event could resonate well with fans and fit naturally into Diablo 4’s universe.

For these collaborations to truly excite players, they would need to go beyond cosmetic skins. Limited-time quests or themed game modes incorporating these IPs could offer unique gameplay experiences, helping to maintain interest during a year without a major expansion.
